Real Life Scenario Training

Real Life Scenario Training

We take pride in continuously offering our staff scenario training. Last year, at The Malvern Autumn Show held at the Three Counties Showground, we conducted a staff training session by creating a real-life scenario on the showground after it had closed to the public.

The session, designed by our Operations Director, assigned each team member a specific role. These roles spanned the entire team, from First Responders to Paramedics, our advanced care team, and our control centre.

The scenario was set at one of the stands, utilising a life support manikin designed for ultra-realistic training, covering a wide range of lifesaving skills for pre-hospital emergencies. The session began with a call from event control to our control team.

Throughout the session, our team worked closely together, calling for backup when needed, and drawing on the diverse range of skills we had on the ground. The dark night added to the realism of the scenario, and we used our Ambulance Support Unit to provide essential lighting.

Following the session, our team held a debrief to discuss the areas where they excelled and identify aspects where they needed additional support and confidence.

One participant shared their experience: “I really enjoyed the scenario session. It was a great chance to put some of my skills into practice, work with team members I don’t usually collaborate with, and see them in action. I was in awe of their knowledge and how they coordinated the team, engaging everyone.”

We have already scheduled more scenario training sessions for 2025, enhancing them to be bigger and better by including the venue’s event team and incorporating major incident training.
